Quaker Marine Supply Co was founded in 1949 by Joe Kadison, a Coast Guard Veteran in Philadelphia. The company began as an outfitter specializing in marine hardware and clothing. Starting in the sixties, QMS became known for its long-brimmed caps, notably the Swordfish and the Oysterman, with its patent-leather bill. The company initially was known for serving the sea-loving crowd and now has expanded our products to reach a variety of audiences. Our most notable customer who one may know is Ernest Hemingway, who wore it duck hunting in Idaho and sport fishing in Cuba and Key West.


The new Quaker Marine Supply Co is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, and has the vision of creating clothing that will both turn heads at a pool party and stand up to years of saltwater adventuring as we offer a distinctive, irreverent take on classic East Coast summer style.

We are opening up our first ever flagship store in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and are searching for part-time and full-time Sales Associates who are energetic, passionate, engaging, curious, and kind to help kick off the launch of our new store.

This exciting opportunity is designated for someone with proven retail experience and a passion for classic and unique sportswear that can be dressed up or down. The Sales Associate will be an important resource for educating customers on the rich history of the brand, and should have a strong understanding the products, operational goals, and visual presentation. As this will be our first store we are critically and carefully hiring.

Necessary Job Functions:
- Has passion for Quaker Marine Supply Co and for the North Brooklyn / NYC Community.
- Enthusiastic about working for a fun new store and ensuring an outstanding experience with customers.
- Interact with customers in a welcoming manner, educating them about the brand and products.
- Uphold excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, genuinely interested in creating an exceptional shopping experience.
- Ability to multi-task, work well both individually and collaboratively.
- Dependable, organized, and keen attention to detail on knowledge of products.
- Uphold a positive and professional attitude for customer’s requests and inquiries.
- Ensure well-ordered display and knowledge of merchandise.
- Work with store manager to achieve sales goals.

Skills and Requirements:
- Retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with Store Supervisor and customers.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work an accommodating schedule with Store Supervisor.
